Jana Helsen

Group leader

Jana obtained her master’s and PhD degree in Bioscience Engineering from the KU Leuven in Belgium, where she conducted her doctoral studies with Prof. Rob Jelier and Prof. Kevin Verstrepen. After graduating in 2021, Jana divided her time between Dr. Gautam Dey’s lab at EMBL (Heidelberg, DE) and Prof. Gavin Sherlock’s lab at Stanford University (US) as a Bridging Excellence Postdoctoral Fellow. From January 2027, Jana will join the University of Geneva as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. Jana enjoys tea, yoga, and drawing the occasional science art.
